Tom and I finally bought a behemoth of a refrigerator so we'll have someplace to store all those frozen meals we'll be eating over the next couple of months. It was $1299, plus $150 for an extended protection plan. The cool thing about the protection plan is that if you don't use it, the store gives you a $150 credit toward the purchase of furniture after the 5 years have elapsed. And if you do use it, well, the $150 is almost certainly less than the cost of any repair they'd have to do. So it seemed a wise choice all the way around.
