Frugal Friday: End of season sales

A simple way of saving a few bucks is stocking up at the end of season clearance sales. Now that the back-to-school season is here, stores are liquidating their supplies of summer items. Now's a great time to pick up bathing suits, flip-flops, and beach towels for a bargain! If you steer clear of trendy clothing and stick to staples and classics, you can pick up almost an entire wardrobe for next year for less than half price.

And you can add to that list picnic supplies, coolers, patio furniture, grills, pool accessories, gardening fertilizers, bug pellets, garden chemicals, hoses, clippers, flower pots etc. These are considered seasonal and at places like WMart, Target, Walgreens, Dollar stores, Big Lots, etc. can usually be picked up for less than 50% of their original cost. All in an effort to make room for Christmas Decorations that are usually in the stores before mid Sep.
